Ken is the passion and vision of N2Care. He gives direction and leadership to the overall operations and performance of N2Care. He is the point man for the leadership team, implementing the strategic goals and objectives for the organization. He maintains and energizes corporate vision and planning and serves as the link to investors and the advisory board. In just three years he has charted a course and transformed the MEDCottage from an academic notion to a new medical product.
Ken has more than 25 years experience in non-profit administration, including organizational goals, capital procurement, financial oversight and membership development. His education credentials consist of a certificate of advanced studies from Temple University School of Business and Law in Tokyo, a master's degree concentrated in diplomatic studies, and a bachelor's degree in organization management. He also has background in biblical studies as an ordained minister and is presently completing a Ph.D.
Susan is the co-founder of MEDCottage and N2Care and has worked as Chief Operations Officer for the past four years. She oversees organization management, manufacturing and business development. Susan is most gifted at implementing vision, task orientation and completion. She came to N2Care with a history of success as a turnaround specialist skilled in redirecting and focusing financial and human resources. Susan is a graduate of Anderson University with a Bachelor's degree. Susan is an active participant in her community, fostered and parented over 50 children and has adopted seven children of her own. She has also worked on an interdisciplinary Hospice Team.
Jackie directs all aspects of N2Care's finance and investor relations. She oversees fiscal management and all matters related to financial accountability. As a member of the leadership team, she participates in developing N2Care's strategic goals and business strategy. Prior to joining N2Care, she worked 30 years in the electric utility industry and most recently as an administrator and faculty member at Averett University and Bluefield College. She is a member of the Board of Trustees at the Roanoke Higher Education Center and Board of Trustees member at Mary Baldwin College. Jackie has a Ph.D. in business administration, master's degree in liberal studies and a Bachelor's degree in business.
John manages all financial systems of N2Care including accounting and investor stakeholdings. John began his relationship with N2Care as one of the Virginia Tech Growth Partner consultants. He has extensive fiscal management experience as the principal of Clary Small Business Solutions. He was also the President for 26 years of a manufacturing company. John holds a BS in Business Management from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University where he has been very active on the Prosim Society, Athletic Fund and Foundation Board of Directors.
Janis provides leadership in areas of design and engineering. Her focus for N2Care is assistive technology design and systems engineering. In addition, she serves as spokesperson on matters concerning assistive technology and grant coordination with public and private sectors. Janis currently resides in Iowa, where she is the department chair and Joseph Walkup Professor of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering at Iowa State University (ISU). Janis also is the Director of the Center for e-Design, a multi-university industry cooperative research consortium. She was previously a professor in the Departments of Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Education and Industrial and Systems Engineering at Virginia Tech. She has also worked as a Program Director at the National Science Foundation. Prior to serving as a professor of engineering, she worked for one of the world's leading multi-national corporations. Janis has a Ph.D. in industrial and systems engineering, a master's degree in industrial and systems engineering and bachelor's degree in mathematical sciences.
Thomas oversees the full scope of residential and commercial sales by assisting the customer with determining the right product and providing support in navigating through zoning and permitting to the placement and installation of the MEDCottage. His knowledgeable and friendly approach permit the highest degree of customer service. As a member of the leadership team, Thomas participates in N2Care's marketing and sales strategic planning. Thomas achieved a Civil Engineering Construction Option Degree from the North Carolina State University and has an accomplished background as a General Contractor as well as in real estate. Thomas has been an active contributor in his community including the Greater Mount Airy Chamber of Commerce Board and the Surry County Economic Development Partnership.
